Our Premium Metal Palette
Our services are available with the following metal products:
Architectural Aluminium
Aluminium Advantages- • Lightweight – Aluminium weighs around 2.5–3 kg/m² (depending on thickness), making it one of the lightest metal roofing materials. This can reduce structural loads and simplify installation.
- • Excellent corrosion resistance – It naturally forms a protective oxide layer that helps resist rust, making it suitable for coastal and marine environments.
- • Long lifespan – A high-quality aluminium roof can typically last 40–70 years or more with proper installation and maintenance.
- • Highly recyclable – Aluminium is 100% recyclable without losing its properties, and many products contain a high percentage of recycled material.
- • Good formability – It can be bent, folded, and curved into complex architectural shapes, making it ideal for standing seam roofs and modern façades.
- • Wide range of finishes – Available in mill finish, anodised, and powder-coated or coil-coated colours, providing extensive design flexibility.
- • Low maintenance – Aluminium does not rust and generally requires only periodic inspection and cleaning.
- • Fire resistant – Aluminium is non-combustible and is suitable for use in many fire-rated building systems.
- • Reflective properties – Light-coloured aluminium roofs can reflect solar radiation, helping reduce heat gain and improving energy efficiency in warm climates.
- • Suitable for long roof spans – When designed correctly, aluminium standing seam systems can be manufactured in long continuous lengths with fewer joints.
Architectural Zinc
Zinc Advantages- • Exceptional lifespan – Zinc roofs typically last 60–100 years or more, depending on the environment and installation quality.
- • Self-healing patina – Zinc develops a natural protective patina that seals minor scratches and slows corrosion, reducing maintenance requirements.
- • Excellent corrosion resistance – It performs well in most environments, including coastal and industrial areas when the correct grade and detailing are used.
- • Very low maintenance – Once installed, zinc generally requires little maintenance beyond occasional inspection and cleaning of gutters.
- • Highly malleable – Zinc is easy to shape into curves, complex roofs, domes, and intricate architectural details, making it popular for bespoke designs.
- • Attractive appearance – Available in natural, pre-weathered, and coloured finishes, zinc develops a distinctive matte patina that many architects value.
- • Sustainable – Zinc is 100% recyclable, often manufactured with a high proportion of recycled content, and long-lasting, reducing the need for replacement.
- • Fire resistant – Zinc is non-combustible, contributing to the fire performance of the building envelope.
- • Lightweight – At around 5–7 kg/m² (depending on thickness), zinc is lighter than many traditional roofing materials, reducing structural loads.
- • Compatible with standing seam systems – It is one of the most established materials for standing seam roofing and wall cladding.
Architectural Copper
Copper Advantages- • Exceptional lifespan – Copper roofs can last 100 years or more, with many historic installations remaining in service after several centuries.
- • Natural protective patina – Copper develops a protective patina that changes from bright metallic to brown and eventually to a characteristic green. This layer protects the metal from further corrosion and can seal minor surface scratches.
- • Outstanding corrosion resistance – Copper performs exceptionally well in a wide range of environments, including marine, industrial, and urban locations.
- • Very low maintenance – Once installed, copper generally requires little maintenance beyond routine inspections and ensuring drainage systems remain clear.
- • Excellent formability – Copper is highly malleable and can be shaped into complex roof forms, domes, spires, curved façades, flashings, and decorative architectural details.
- • High strength and durability – Despite being relatively soft, copper has excellent long-term durability and retains its structural integrity over decades of exposure.
- • Recyclable – Copper is 100% recyclable without loss of performance, and a significant proportion of architectural copper comes from recycled sources.
- • Fire resistant – Copper is non-combustible, making it suitable for use in high-performance building envelopes.
- • Lightweight – Copper roofing typically weighs around 5–6 kg/m², considerably lighter than traditional tile or slate roofing.
- • Prestige and aesthetic appeal – Its evolving appearance and association with landmark buildings make copper a premium architectural material.
Architectural Greencoat PLX
GreenCoat PLX Advantages- • 50 year technical guarantee, 25 Year aesthetic guarantee
- • Sustainability – SSAB's Bio-based Technology (BT) coating replaces a significant portion of fossil-based oils with Swedish rapeseed oil, reducing environmental impact. The steel is also fully recyclable and chromate-free.
- • Low thermal expansion – Compared with materials like zinc or aluminium, GreenCoat PLX expands and contracts less with temperature changes, helping reduce buckling and oil-canning in long roof panels.
- • Compared with conventional polyester-coated steel, GreenCoat PLX generally offers better formability, a longer service life, and stronger environmental credentials, making it a popular choice for premium roofing projects.
- • Corrosion protection – A heavy zinc coating (typically 350 g/m² on many PLX products) provides excellent protection, making it suitable for coastal and demanding environments
